New Church!
We've started attending a new church in Grand Terrace, California. It's called The Brook. You can view the website for the church here.

Busy! Busy! Busy!
I can't belive how busy you stay with a 15 month old!!! Even though Hannah is still not walking, she can crawl at warp speed and manage to get around quite nicely. Hannah's naps are getting shorter and shorter and it's making it harder to get anything down around the house. But oh well, huh?

Hannah brings more blessings than I ever thought possible. It seems like lately, she does or says something new everyday and it brings such great joy. I find when she does something extra cute, I am asking her to do it over and over and over again...just 'cuz she's so darn cute when she does it.

I was involved in a Home Summer Bible Study over the last 8 weeks. We studied the Proverbs Woman and how we as Christian women can strive to be more like her. I was blessed when my friend who started the home study asked me to teach one week. I am thinking about going to the Tuesday morning Women's Bible Fellowship at church, when it starts back up in the Fall. However, I still need to work out some babysitting details, because I don't want to put Hannah in the nursery...too many germies!

Hannah and I continue to make regular trips to Disneyland with Carolyn and her daughter Katie. And I'm looking forward to when mom's annual pass no longer has blockout days and we can go.

My baby is a year old!!!!!
I cannot believe that my baby is a year old! Where has the last year gone? So many of our friends had warned us of how hard the first year was, and to tell you the truth, aside from all of her hospitalizations, it wasn't as bad as it sounded! The Lord really blessed us with a wonderful baby.

The other day we were running errands and I drove past the hospital where she was born, which is also the hospital she was always hospitalized at, and I was overcome with emotions and I started to cry as I thought about how Hannah's first year is over, she's had all of her first holidays, she is now considered a toddler!

Now that my baby is a year old now, people are asking more frequently when Hannah will have a little brother or a little sister. I want to enjoy Hannah for a few years. Never again will I have just one baby. So to answer that question of when Hannah might have a sibling...I'd like to wait 2 or 3 years!

Happy 2001!!
Wow! Another year has come and gone. Hard to believe it's already nearing the end of January! It's even harder to believe that we've had Hannah longer than I was pregnant with her! Time flies when you're having fun.

Keeping up with an active 9 month old is a lot of work! But I love it to say the least. I can't always get a lot done during the day, but I am enjoying this stage of Hannah being so playful.

Now that I'm not taking Hannah to doctors appointments once a week or more, Hannah and I have had more time to go to Disneyland! We've been going about every other week and some weeks we've gone twice, going on the weekends with Steven. I have a friend, Carolyn, who has a pass and is as big of a Disney Freak as I am! She has a daughter that is 3 months younger than Hannah and we pack the diaper bags and spend the day at Disneyland. It's been a lot nicer since everyone's back at school and winter vacations are over. The new theme park Disney's California Adventure is opening on February 8th and we're hoping that everyone will want to check out the new theme park this spring and summer and Disneyland will be even less crowded!

I am continuing to go to MOPS every other Friday and have met a great bunch of moms from the Redlands/Yucaipa area. We've gotten together a time or two outside of MOPS and that's fun to do as well.

What's New
When Hannah's various appointment aren't keeping me running, somehow I seem to keep myself pretty busy, besides the obvious household chores and the usual caretaking of Hannah.

I joined a MOPS group through a Redlands church. It meets every other Friday morning and I absolutely love it! It's wonderful meeting with other women who have young children and love the Lord.

I haven't gotten involved in a Bible Fellowship through Harvest this year.

Now that school is back in session and it's finally starting to cool off, I am hoping to get in some weekday trips to the Happiest Place on Earth. I have a few friends who have passes as well, and it's fun just to go and push the kids around in the stroller.

Me and Steven
Our web site tells a lot about our new family, but not how we got to the point of having a family. We thought it was time to share Steven's and my history. To read about how Steven and Darcy came to be, go here.

I'm a Mommy!!!
It's funny, we've only had Hannah a short time and I can't imagine our life without her. Whatever did we do for 4 years before she came into our life?

Not only did the Lord bless me with a wonderful pregnancy, He blessed me with a wonderful daughter as well. She's perfectly healthy and is developing correctly. She doesn't fuss a whole lot, don't get me wrong, she does have her moments, but not near as fussy as babies can be. She sleeps tremendously well. And is just an all around good natured baby.

I love being a mommy. I love the snuggly time with her and the smiles she's starting to give. I love caring for her and providing for her every need.

My hope and prayer is that I will be the type of mother to Hannah that my mom was to me.

Do I like being pregnant?
Yes, I very much like being pregnant. Aside from about 8 weeks worth of morning sickness in the beginning, I have felt absolutely great. Even now, being within days or a few weeks of delivering, I feel great. I've not had any complications and really haven't had a lot of the common complaints that go hand in hand with being pregnant. Steven and my mom both have said how they think pregnancy really agrees with me. The Lord has really blessed me with a wonderful first pregnancy.

Am I ready to be a mommy?
Although we've been told you can never be completely ready to be parents, I think I can say that I am ready to be a mommy.

Ever since I was a little girl, all I've ever wanted to do when I grew up was get married and have a baby. Well, we've been married for 4 years this March 23, and now it's time for that next step of my childhood dream to come true.
