Darcy Meets Online Friends!!!
August 26-27

Almost 2 years ago, Darcy got really involved on an AOL message board for moms expecting in April 2000. About a month before Hannah was born, a handful of those moms on the board formed an email loop. It was a loop of moms who's intentions were to breastfeed and offer encouragement and support to one another once the babies came.

For over the last year and a half, Darcy has been in this email loop of moms to babies all born within 2 weeks of each other. We talk about our April babies and the things they are doing, we talk about our familes, we exchange pictures, and have really formed online friendships.

Too make a long story short, two of the 'loopies' traveled across country to Southern California...to vacation for a few days at Disneyland! Karen and her daugher, Catherine, flew from Maryland. And Robin and her son, Jacob, flew from New Jersey, and Becky and her son, Jonathan, drove up from Chula Vista, just outside of San Diego.

The plans were to meet at Disneyland and we'd all stay in a hotel together on Sunday night and spend Monday together again. It was so cool, it was like we had actually known each other for years, despite having never met in person before. We had a great 2 days together. It was fun to see all the babies together as well. Darcy kept hoping that the walking abilities of the other four babies would wear off on Hannah...but so far, no such luck!!

While it was sad to say goodbye, we knew we'd see each other again...online!!!!!!!!!

Hannah's 1st Trip to the Beach
Saturday, July 21

Some Saturday plans fell through so we decided to go down to Huntington Beach. We been down the the various piers and boardwalks before, but never has Hannah been down on the sand and in the water.

Hannah absoultely loved the beach. She sat and watched all the people on the beach playing and the people splashing in the water, while her mommy and daddy built a sand castle. She had sand from ear to ear and from chin to forehead and in every crevice of her body. She loved the sand and wasn't afraid of the water. She did better than we thought she would.

It really was a lot of fun! Maybe we can go again before summer is over.

Hannah's Birthday Party

Hannah's 1st Birthday Party

Because Hannah's actual birthday fell on Easter this year, we had her birthday party a week before her birthday.

We tried to keep it a small party with inviting only the aunts and uncles and the grandparents and great grandparents and 2 sets of our friends. With that, we still managed to have a party of just over 20 people.

The theme for the party was teddy bears. The plan was the BBQ hamburgers, and wouldn't you know it rained! So daddy and Grandpa Fraser stood out in the rain BBQing under an umbrella. Mommy made both the cake for Hannah to enjoy, and the cake for the rest of the party guests. She made them in the shape of teddy bears. You can see pictures of the cakes here.

Hannah got tons of nice presents! Thank you to all of the friends and family once again for remembering Hannah's special day.

5th Wedding Anniversary

March 23, marked our 5th wedding anniversary. We celebrated by spending the night at the new Disney's Grand Californian, located inside the new theme park. We had a room that had a view of the theme park.

Our friend Carolyn knew someone who had a membership to Club 33 and got us signed in for dinner. It was awesome! Club 33 is an elite dinner club that Walt Disney used for entertaining his family and park sponsors. For years, Darcy had been trying to figure out a way to get up to Club 33, but you need to know someone who has a membership inorder to get in. We had an excellent dinner and finished off our time in Club 33 by watching the end of Fantasmic! from the balcony.

Incase you were wondering what we did with Hannah, she spent the night for the first time at her Gramma and Grandpa's house. She did very well away from home. Needless to say, Gramma and Grandpa were worn out at the end of her stay!

DCA Grand Opening

The Grand Opening of Disney's new theme park, California Adventure took place on February 8, 2001, and Darcy and Carolyn were there to take part in the opening day festivities.

We anticipated the park to be crowded, but we wanted to go so that we could one day say "we were there on opening day". When we got inside the gates, the park was empty! We took turns walking on all the rides that had been 2-3 hour waits on our passholder preview days. We had a great day taking advantage of no lines and no crowds!

My 1st Christmas!

The Stockings were Hung...

Christmas

Our Christmas actually started on Friday night when we had Steven's dad over for dinner and for Hannah to open her Christmas presents from her Gramie and Grandpa. The weekend has just started and already Hannah is spoiled!

On Christmas Eve, we went to Darcy's grandparents house for the annual Christmas dinner and gift exchange. It had been 18 years since there had been a baby in the family, and needless to say, Hannah left spoiled by her Great Grandparents and all of her Great Aunts and Great Uncles. By the end of the night, all three of us left spoiled to say the least.

On Christmas morning we did our stockings and our gifts for each other. About mid-morning we headed over to Darcy's parents house. Being the first grandchild and the first neice for Robbie and Grace, Hannah was once again spoiled. Gramma quilted a beautiful quilt for Hannah, all hand stitched with love. There was also a big stocking filled with all kinds of toys and goodies for Hannah.

For Christmas dinner we went to Darcy's Aunt and Uncles house. We had to cut our visit short as Hannah had not napped at all during the day and was pretty cranky!

We had a wonderful and blessed Christmas and we hope you did too!

Hannah's Dedication

Hannah's Dedication - Dec. 10th

Hannah was dedicated at church today. Pastor Jeff Lasseigne prayed over Hannah.

After the church service, we had everyone back to the house for a small luncheon.

You can view her dedication or the entire service from the Harvest web site. (Hannah's dedication starts 25:30:00 into the service.)

Happy Turkey Day

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving

We didn't have to travel to spend Thanksgiving with loved ones this year...they came to us. We hosted Thanksgiving Dinner at our house.

Helping celebrate Hannah's 1st Thanksgiving was Darcy's parents, Steven's mom, Robbie and Grace, Gramma Forry, and Uncle Bart.

Along with the usual things to be thankful for...home, job, good health, etc, etc. We are truly thankful for the Lord blessing us with a healthy and perfect daughter this year.

The Fraser Family

The Frasers and The Whittleseys

4th of July

We celebrated the 4th of July with a BBQ and a group of friends...the Whittleseys, the Olguins, and the Fosgetts.

To show our patriotism, the three of us dressed alike in Old Navy
T-Shirts. When we arrived at our BBQ, the Whittlesey's had done the exact same thing! We looked like we could be the poster families for the next Old Navy commercial.

We didn't go see fireworks as a group, but we did make it home in time to see the fireworks off of Mt. Rubidoux from our backyard. Guess we know who's having the 4th of July BBQ next year!

Steven's First Father's Day

On Sunday, June 18th, we celebrated Father's Day. We started off the day by going to church and then taking Steven out to breakfast. Later in the afternoon we had a BBQ with Darcy's parents and Robbie and Grace.

Darcy and Hannah suprised Steven with a professional picture they had taken together. To see that photo go here.

Hannah's First Trip to Disneyland

On Friday, May 19th, Hannah had her first trip to Disneyland. Uncle Robbie and Auntie went along to help commerate this special event. Hannah slept through most of the visit, but was awake to look around at the bright lights and colors in Tomorrowland, and she saw, or at least heard, the new "Believe" fireworks show above Sleeping Beauty's castle.

Mother's Day

Darcy's First Mother's Day

On May 14th, Darcy celebrated her first Mother's Day as a Mother. It was a nice day. We spent the day visiting both of Darcy's grandmothers as well as spending time with Darcy's mom and Steven's mom.

Darcy got a gift certificate to a local day spa from Hannah and daddy, and is looking forward to getting a massage and a pedicure!

On April 23rd, we celebrated Easter. While Hannah was still only a week old, Mom made sure to dress her up special. (Well maybe special isn't the word for it.)
